According to the Washington Blade, “Dr. Saul Levin, who last year became the first openly gay head of the D.C. Department of Health, was named on May 15 as the new chief executive officer and medical director of the American Psychiatric Association.”
Forty years from mental illness to head of the group. This should bring interesting commentary from the anti-gay crowd.
I’m more shocked to discover that a straight person has been in the role all this time. Clearly the APA has been biased against gays all that time they were led by someone with a heterosexual agenda.
Congratulations, Dr. Saul Levin! Quite an honor. And may I make the educated guess by his name that he’s a “twice blessed” member of The Tribe, as well? 😀
