The Eternal JewJews who want to rid themselves of same-sex attractions will often turn to “secular” organizations like NARTH, because aside from Jews Offering New Alternatives to Homosexuality (JONAH), every religious ex-gay ministry in the United States is targeted to some type of Christian population. JONAH is extremely close to NARTH, in fact, virtually all their “scientific” articles come from NARTH’s library. This is a serious mistake. Jews who align themselves with NARTH don’t just align themselves with bad science – they align themselves with Holocaust revisionism and hateful rhetoric that parallels the language of Nazi Propaganda; specifically, anti-Jewish propaganda.   • NARTH sports a guide to “taking back” schools from pro-tolerance activists, written by Scott Lively. Lively is a former American Family Association state chapter leader (he’s still listed as an active director) and the author of the book The Pink Swastika, which (according to the SPLC) falsely asserts that more gays were involved in the perpetration of genocide than were murdered under the Nazi regime. Lively has used The Pink Swastika to achieve popularity in Eastern Europe and among Russian-speaking U.S. immigrants. Lively is now a leader of a Slavic organization called Watchmen on the Walls (Google translation link), which has applauded the murder of a Sacramento gay man by Slavic skinheads, used West Coast Russian-language radio shows to promote anti-gay ethnic cleansing, and taught audiences that homosexuals have a contagious disease that must be quarantined and treated. If you think this sounds eerily familiar, you’re right.
  • Paul Cameron, previously reported to be a supporter of a “Final Solution” for homosexuals and an admirer of Nazi officer Rudolph Höss, is still quite pervasive in NARTH’s library. Articles that cite his work can be found here, here, here, and here.

In addition, NARTH’s online library is filled with examples of anti-gay rhetoric that parallels anti-Jewish rhetoric found in the Nazi propaganda film The Eternal Jew:

They are diseased beings

  • Disease is rampant among the homosexual community, much more so than the heterosexual community, according to NARTH.
  • “In this way, they (the rats) spread disease, plague, leprosy, typhoid fever, cholera, dysentery, and so on. They are cunning, cowardly, and cruel, and are found mostly in large packs. Among the animals, they represent the rudiment of an insidious and underground destruction – just like the Jews among human beings.” Scholar Didi Herman also reports the following on the subject: “These themes of disease and seduction are strongly reminiscent of older, anti-Semitic discourses. Jews historically were associated with disease, filth, urban degeneration, and child stealing (see, e.g., Gilman 1991; Mosse 1985).”

They are harmful to youth

  • Gays seek to lower the age of consent, and are a threat because pedophilia is a large part of the “gay lifestyle.”
  • “The Jew Lorre in the role of a child murderer. Not the murderer but the victim is guilty, according to this film, which presents the criminal sympathetically, to gloss over and excuse the crime.” Since the Middle Ages, Jews have been branded with the myth of killing Christian children for their blood, which they would use for religious purposes. Incidentally, use of blood is purposefully limited by the Jewish Law, and consumption of it is prohibited.

Although a small population, they are responsible for a large amount of crime

  • According to NARTH, Gays account for 2% of the male population, yet make up more than 1/3 of child molesters. 80% of pedophilic victims are molested by adult men, who are assumed to be gay according to Joseph Nicolosi’s article.
  • “This parasitical Jewish race is responsible for most international crime. In 1932, Jews, only 1% of the world’s population, accounted for … 47% of crooked games of chance – 82% of international crime organizations – 98 percent of prostitution.”

They are perverted, unnatural, and pathological

  • In this NARTH article, a barrage of statistics is hurled at the reader attempting to prove that gays and lesbians are prone to pathology and substance abuse. While gays and lesbians often suffer from psychological disorders such as depression, this is hardly surprising considering the homophobic, anti-gay climate created by organizations like NARTH who call gays flawed, diseased human beings.

  • “What he [a Jew] calls ‘art’ must titillate his degenerate nerves. A smell of foulness and disease must pervade it. It must be unnatural, grotesque, perverted or pathological.”

Christianity is being threatened

  • This article makes the attempt to demonstrate that giving homosexuals rights will chip away at the freedom to practice Christianity. This one says that Christian clergy will be forced to perform same-sex unions if gays are granted the right to marry under the law, a situation that will never come true because of church/state separation laws. For example: The Catholic Church does not recognize divorce, but U.S. law does.
  • “What does the ancient Talmud law teach? Let us hear some quotes….[now supposedly quoting the Talmud] Praise to the Lord who has set apart the holy Israelites from other people. The heathen, who do not keep the law, will be destroyed.”


They are a threat because they are richer and more educated

  • According to NARTH: “For decades homosexual activists have fostered the impression that gays are economically, educationally and culturally disadvantaged. Yet recent marketing studies, done by gay-run marketing agencies and boasting scientific accuracy above 99%, roundly refute those claims…Also, according to Michael’s (et al) landmark survey Sex In America, self-identified gays and lesbians tend to be far better educated than the general population. Twice as many college men identify themselves as gay as do non-college men, and with lesbians, there is an even greater contrast. Women with college educations are eight times more likely than high school- educated women to identify themselves as lesbians.”
  • “Fifty-two out of every 100 doctors were Jews. Of every 100 merchants, 60 were Jews. The average wealth of Germans was 810 marks; the average wealth of Jews 10,000 marks.”

They are spreading like a “Tide”

  • According to NARTH: “We’re awash in the tide of unconstrained instinctive behaviors which are all being labeled ‘okay’ because nobody really has a sense, any more, as to what’s right and what’s wrong.”
  • “They spread from Eastern Europe like an irresistible tide, flooding the towns and nations of Europe – in fact, the entire world.”

Even given this small sample, NARTH doesn’t appear to be a neutral, scientific organization dedicated to helping others, but more so a politically-motivated, anti-gay propaganda machine, providing material for like-minded groups under the guise of scientific research. In putting themselves in bed with them, Jewish anti-gay groups like JONAH support Holocaust revisionism and propaganda that hearkens back to the vilification of our own people in Nazi Germany.

It is also worth noting that Scott Lively’s direct connection to Russian hate groups that target gays reminds one of the persecution and pogroms the Jewish people had suffered under the hands of the Russian government. Groups like JONAH must disown NARTH and publicly speak against their use of such hateful rhetoric. Because of our history of personally experiencing such hate, we Jews have a responsibility to stop it where we see it flourish. In this case, the enemy of your enemy is NOT your friend.
