God forbid anyone else in the religious right should top Stephen Bennett’s outrageousness on any given issue, he provided some recent thoughts on the Golden Globes:
“Hollywood has sunk to an all-time moral low. I guess 2006 will be known as ‘The Year of the Homosexual’ in Hollywood. With ‘Brokeback Mountain,’ ‘TransAmerica’ and ‘Capote’ winning several major ‘gender-bender’ Golden Globes – Hollywood is no doubt ‘out’ on a mission to ‘homosexualize‘ America,”
[article continues]“When Hollywood is pumping out anti-family movies with sexually explicit, twisted and perverse themes that glorify homosexuality, transsexuality and every other kind of sexual immorality – then awards itself for doing so – middle America better take note. Last night, Hollywood exposed its own corrupt agenda.” Stephen continued, “With the Oscars just around the corner, don’t be surprised this year if you see Hollywood’s elite walking down the ‘Pink Carpet.'”
Bennett ended, “Conservatives and middle America are frankly sick of having the homosexual agenda continually shoved down our throats by the media.”
homosexualize?
homo say what?
And I’m kind of at a loss to see how the Hollywood Foreign Press Association, which throws the Golden Globes, shoves anything down the throat of middle America unless people in middle America are reading the homosexualized propaganda of Ramzi Malouki on the Tunisian news site karimbenamor.com.
Besides, everybody knows the correct word is “homosexualificate.”
If you read the article you will see that it talks more about Stephen and his wife, who they are and what they are selling more than it talks about Hollywood.
So when will Stephen Bennett talk about out and proud homosexual Chad Allen (who did a fantastic job defending gay rights on Larry King Live last night) being cast in a new evangelical film, End of the Spear?

This is outrage for the sake of outrage, nothing else. No one has to watch these movies. Hollywood releases many films that have nothing to do with gays or transgenders. Most of these films also failed. Gigli, a heterosexual romance, was a huge money loser. Brokeback Mountain has at least made a healthy profit.
Does anyone know exactly what a ‘gender bender’ Golden Globe is? Is it like a regular Golden Globe but in a dress and beard?
If “middle America” were so outraged at Brokeback Mountain, then they wouldn’t be going to see it like they have been, now would they? The film is doing well in smaller markets and still has the highest per-screen average of any film in the Top 10 right now.
I swear, debunking Stephen Bennett is like shooting fish in a barrel.
One of my friends just told me about the Larry King interview-I missed it, darn it.
I hardly ever watch tv anymore.
But two very dear friends of mine were interviewed and I was at the wedding of one of them in WY.
The other one is helping me promote my play. He’d read the script on his way to Panama to shoot his movie and has been committed to it ever since.
I also heard about the dissenters, and my friend wasn’t impressed.
I wouldn’t thing really intelligent, secure people would be.
One thing is for sure, Larry King’s style is SO softball. He’s not a hard questioner and that’s why I don’t bother to watch his show.
But I’m proud of my brothers there who were interviewed.
BROKEBACK MOUNTAIN WAS NUMBER ONE AT THE BOX OFFICE ON TUESDAY
I guess those four Golden Globes convinced some good folk in the heartland to go catch up on the “gay cowboy movie”.

Also on Larry King, the radio host Janet Parshall also complained about Brokeback “homosexualizing” America.
Hmmm. Ya think they all talk to each other?
Boo says:Does anyone know exactly what a ‘gender bender’ Golden Globe is? Is it like a regular Golden Globe but in a dress and beard?I don’t know. I’m sure it was the one won by Felicity Huffman though. 😛
Regan, Larry was actually fairly tough on the so-called Christians this time around.
Thanks for letting me know James. I sure wish I could have seen it.
I’ll just call my buds who participated and see what they say.

A minor correction. Larry King was tough on the ANTI-GAY Christians. Chad Allen talked a lot about his faith in God. It made for a very nice contrast.

For those who do not live in LA, Stephen Bennett was on the Kevin & Bean Morning Show this morning (1/20) on KROQ FM to discuss the “truth” about the movie Brokeback Mountain. It shows the sad state of his and the entire ‘ex-gay’ “ministry” when he is the one tapped to speak nationally (he’s been making comments to CNN all week following the Golden Globes) about the “truth” contained in the movie, when HE HASN’T EVEN SEEN BROKEBACK MOUNTAIN!!! That’s right, he even said himself that he hadn’t seen it, but a very good friend of his had and that somehow qualified him to comment on it.
Could it be that Steven won’t see it because he’s afraid the movie might be revealing to him (that gay and married to a woman = unhappy)?
