Writing for FreedomWorks, Armey accused Focus’ longtime chairman of:

  • being most interested in power, not faith, freedom, or morality
  • promoting big government
  • lying about conservatives (such as Armey) who oppose Dobson on select legislative issues
  • smearing the faith and character of these opponents
  • threatening the freedom of religious minorities, including future Christians

On Sept. 26, Media Matters for America accused the mass media of ignoring prior criticisms of Dobson by Armey.
