Addendum: The above graphic is REAL. But here are some show topics I would like to suggest for Bennett’s show. Yes, these are JOKES but they are based on real things Bennett has done and said.

In all fairness, I’m in no position to be making fun of people for their hair.
Interesting that it debuts on Halloween!!
Don’t know if you noticed this on their site–I’d hate to have you arrested…
“No content including articles, photos, graphics, music, videos, or any materials whatsoever on this website may be used, published reproduced or manipulated in any way, shape or form without the written, expressed permission of SBM, Inc. Violators will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.”
Technically it’s just a linked photo. XGW isn’t really hosting the image.
Stephen can go right ahead and send us a C&D letter.
I’m so glad they have colors appropriate for their gender roles. Boys get blue. Girls get pink.
Although that pink triangle is dangerously close to Mr. Bennett’s head. Is it falling apart under the power of Jesus Christ or leaking into his brain?
A sad lesson learnt. DO NOT give some people PhotoShop for Xmas. My eyes hurt. But perhaps in the first broadcast the former homosexual could start with a single name from among the 100 he claims to have slept with.
I’d settle for one of the names of “the many boyfriends he buried who died of AIDS”.
Hilarious! Does any current gay organization still use the pink triangle symbol?
Why is Irene Bennett’s name listed first? Maybe it’s really her show. (A daytime hobby for the Mrs?) Afterall, it’s described as “blonde, bold and brash”.
On the site, I just find it amazing that a 6CD set on how to overcome homosexuality is 99 bucks!!
and the sad thing, people buy these things thinking that it will work (for whoever).
What a joke. If some people wish to “change” because they are not naturally homosexual then that’s their business; but this radio station is just another testament to the fact that the ex-gay movement is a huge marketing and political scam.
I don’t know of any gay organizations that still use a pink triangle.
That’s so 1985.
Actually I have seen the pink triangle up in a number of different places. It is just not as prominent as it used to be. Plus, these could be old signs that no one has got around to replacing yet. But it is still there.
I never thought I say this given my age and sexual orintation but dude, that web site is GAY!
MIke A – the NGLTF uses a modified one. But they are soooo 1985 at times, I guess that suits.
Notice how the pink triangle is “shattered”. I am confused as to what the “edge” is in their christian radio. Is it christian radio packed with more untruths than one can handle in a single listen?
Don’t forget I used a triangle in my Alan Chambers infographic
The pink triangle is still used in Australia to denote queer-friendly places on stickers with “A Safe Place” written next to the triangle.
Regarding the use of the pink triangle, since we don’t haunt gay establishments in Germany, I don’t know what is used. But there are a series of books entitles things like Berlin vom Hinton, Hamburg vom Hinton, Muenchen vom Hinton (Berlin from the rear, Hamburg from the rear, Munich from the rear) that generally serve as the local versions of Damron guides. We’ve seen them for sale at the local train stations.
In the US, it appears that the rainbow flag has taken over the pink triangle.
BTW, I have been told that the pink triangle is still prominantly displayed at the “Denkmal” of the Dachauer concentration camp, along with the other colored triangles that were used to classify those who were interred there. It’s a shame what the Nazis did to that city’s reputation.
Yeah, it’s funny the show debuts on Halloween. The Bennetts are just plain SCARY. I’m sure my ex-wife, ex-co-ministry leader, could give a scathing anyalysis of a pretty woman (oh – forgot ‘blonde’) who submits to being public ‘proof’ that a gay man is now a ‘former homosexual.’ I’ve seen the Bennett family schtick in person – the parading of wife and cute children onto the platform to the applause of the homophobic audience – and it is truly wrenching.

In point of fact, if Daniel were to post a comment on the photo, it would probably be considered “fair use” under 17 USC 107, even if he were to copy it here. Since he (apparently) didn’t copy it here, there is no copyright violation in any case.
On another topic: “SBM Inc”? More evidence that they are just money-grubbers.
I just thought that their hypersensitivity about use of their images was funny–I didn’t really think that Daniel is danger of being arrested… guess the sarcasm didn’t come through well.
Okay, this guy and his wife are claiming absolute domain over the truth and the right information?
And that anyone else who dissents (especially gay people) are lying activists on board with an agenda that represents evil?
Well, who gave THEM the privilege?
Who promoted them to ALL KNOWING and ALL SEEING?
I can think of times when white people have really hurt me. I’ve been betrayed in such a way that I’ve questioned if the motive was racism, or simply racial insensitivity.
Certainly there are white people who haven’t felt any obligation to make me feel that it wasn’t the case, while at the same time would take great offense if I suggested they were racially insensitive.
Despite these experiences, I have not and will not bad mouth or reject ALL white people.
It’s pointless to do so publicly and use my negative experience as a caution for hate towards white people or even crowd my thoughts with POTENTIAL racism in white people simply because they are white.
I have even LESS license to convey my struggle with my black identity with a white majority as a means to say that rejecting that identity is healthy and desirable simply because there are white people who have a problem with it.
This is why setting up laws that compromise the civil rights of gay people cannot be put up to a public vote. It’s a means to demonstrate that a majority of heterosexuals WILL reject gay equality, but that doesn’t mean they are right to do so institutionally.
Stephen Bennett is such a coward. The worst kind.
He’s projecting his experience on and against other gay people and wishing for their identity to be punished because he didn’t have it so good.
And what good gay people are out there, attending to their children and spouses without the constraints of marriage, he rejects as well.
He is a bigot.
He does what bigots do. Take a minor or personal incident and blow it up into an institutional mission.
He might not like the word.
But it’s accurate.
If he doesn’t like the word, he can stop acting like one.
If one his children is gay…that child is in for a world of the same hurt Bennett himself couldn’t avoid and doesn’t want others to either.
Will this radio show have a call-in session? It would be interesting to hear Regan DuCasse arguing with Bennett over the air.
Unfortunately, I won’t be able to hear his show since I don’t live the states where it is broadcasted. Even if they expand broadcast, Bennett won’t likely pass through the stingent censors of the CRTC (Canadian Radio-television Telecommunications Commission).
I’m trying to submit my gay, ex-gay, and ex-ex-gay jugband’s anthem “MARCHING WITH THE DEVIL (We Bring Up The Rear)” to them as a possible theme song. You can hear it at: https://www.saggybottomgirls.com/lyrics_page_3.html
Hope You like it!
Oops. I messed up that link. I think you can just click my name at the bottom of this post to get to the anthem.

It might be available over the Internet over streaming audio. I’m not suggesting that you make use of that service for this particular show, but some radio programs are broadcast over the Internet using streaming audio.
Wow, Daniel, you’re very handsome!
According to the announcement, one can indeed hear a streaming version from the website (when it is up). So you should be able to hear it there by logging in, Xeno.
Andrew Sullivan’s site has two pieces of interest on gay issues today.
His email of the day and a link to a debate he had recently.
He mentions that during the last bit of dialogue he had, and audience member asked what policy WOULD there be on gay people?
Andrew analyzes this question and it’s an important one.
But it sadly points to a mission that the President is engaging in as well.
The disappearing of gay people because of the belief that they aren’t supposed to exist.
The President is not speaking on the gay military ban. He’s not discussing gay interests with GAY people at all.
He won’t talk about the FMA with gay people, nor is he making mention of just how successfully incorporated gay married couples are in Massachussetts society…or the military where permitted.
And religious conservatives will not discuss gay concerns with gay people much anymore.
In a way, DEAFNESS is the new affliction to gay people, but they hear ANTI gay policy FROM HETEROSEXUALS loud and clear.
Xeno,
I would pay money to see Regan get Stephen Bennett all up in one of his tizzies.
I was checking out their link
They think that THE MOST IMPORTANT issue is homosexuality?
What kind of stupid preoccupation is that?
They are this consumed with what gay people do…and not say drug dealers and gangs?
They are trolling for GAY people so much and want the heterosexuals in their lives to betray them to their cause that really bad social problems get short attention?
No wonder the drugs, dealers and gangs have taken over.
And their two CD book, “10 Ways to Reach a Homosexual” for 40 bucks.
I would love to know how they do that.
Other than slapping a gay person first.
Then saying…’I hit you for you own good and because I care about you being hurt by your homosexuality? And we’ll make sure other people are slapping you too, until you come to us, God, Jesus and your senses.’
This sounds more like their school of reaching out to gay people.
To look at it from a certain historical perspective.
Race segregationist’s mantra was:
“Nigra’s would be better off wid dare own kine.”
Meaning, we don’t want to have to see them as human beings and equal to us white folks.
Because we don’t want to see them at all.’
Homophobic mantra is:
“You aren’t your own kind in the first place”.
Meaning, we don’t have to see them as human beings and equal to us heterosexual folks, because we don’t want to see them at all.’
I don’t see any difference in this way…
It all says: ‘We hate you for daring to want what we want and have…and proving in the meantime you’re not as inferior as we wish you were. We insist on telling YOU what your place is. We don’t want to have to look you in the face and see our own there before us.’
Yep…socially and historically gay folks and black folks may not have the exact same levels of oppression with each other.
But having it this close…still don’t make continuing institutional policies that oppress anyone, something to be supported or right.
I think that people who abandoned their identity or are relieved of their burden-ex gays…black folks-
who then turn on those who still deal with these
conditions, and support those who continue to hurt their brethren without the brethren’s voice being heard:
have got to be the absolute worst kind of coward.
I mean the weakest moral character and considered betrayer there is.
And I know the basic laws of civil and spiritual authority abhor that kind of behavior.
“Get your Hair did”.. LOL!!!! That’s hilarious
“Other than slapping a gay person first.
Then saying…’I hit you for you own good and because I care about you being hurt by your homosexuality? And we’ll make sure other people are slapping you too, until you come to us, God, Jesus and your senses.'”
Brilliant, Regan. 😉
Thanks, it’s actually a line from a Missy Elliott song but it’s really caught on with many gay boys I know so I figured Stephan would appreciate it too.

Not just Missy, some of my friends have been saying “Get your hair did” for years before Missy.
LOL! I knew it was from Missy. I just love that you used it 🙂
If there’s anything that’s for sure, it’s that this show will give XGW a lot of material to debunk in the weeks and months ahead, knowing Stephen Bennett’s penchant for making up statistics.
Perhaps he’ll interview one of the guys he formerly dated, but I doubt it. (Is Wayne Besen checking into this guy’s background? I’m curious.)
Hi ChristopherBesen and many, many others have looked — and it’s all a complete mystery. Over at his on-line advert, sorry I meant blog, and elsewhere Bennett often implores people to “contact me” and hear the complete story… but I am unaware of anyone getting an answer to just who and when he dated anyone (let alone slept with, let alone all those people who are now dead). And when the radio show collapes under its own hubris, I have heard rumour that he shall be launching a new man-band (kind of like a boy-band, but also very much not like one).Called WEre’N’Sync their first release shall be “Blood on the Water”, a remake of the Deep Purple classic with new lyrics fabricated by Bennett.Kind of the story of his life, really.

…knowing Stephen Bennett’s penchant for making up statistics…
One of the things you need to realize is the fact that his target audience is more than willing to believe his made-up statistics. I’m not sure how to get through to them (his target audience). And I’m not entirely sure that it is worth the effort.
Does anyone know how to find out what radio stations are airing the program? I’d like to write a piece on it for my local LGBT paper, since we’ve been doing an ex-gay series. Their links are bad, and the website design is pretty lousy–I can’t find any info. Thanks!
CK – I think that you can listen to it via the website. There’s streaming audio…or something.
Oh, I would LOVE to take on those..Bennetts!
Him and his wife!!!
The Inglewood Police Dept. had to scrape another young casualty off the sidewalk. A gang related drive by. Five shots into the chest of a young girl…again.
This time a fifteen year old Latina actress who had appeared in Judging Amy and most recently in a film with Martin Lawrence. She played the only girl B ball player on his all boys team.
She’d been living in Inglewood with her single mom and one older sister.
We don’t need eulogies for the homosexuality of young folks…
Oh yeah…I got something to say to Bennett and his wife and their priorities.
Just as I got Jesse Peterson to take me on…I could call up some Bennetts and let them know what time it really is…
I’m listening to “Ghetto Gospel” by TuPac…and Elton John…
The Bennetts are new jack disciples of the church of misplaced beliefs.
They do no honor to the real world and the streets on which I patrol.
They are in safe confines away from the gunfire…and the blood and the real face of urban war.
They count on the civility of gay people while at the same time preaching that gay people are uncivilized.
I know for goddamn sure…it wasn’t gay people that shot that girl!
Regan, I hardly believe stephen was ever gay to begin with. Why do I say that well all you have to do is look at him I mean he has the face only a mother could love. If he was gay he probably went to a bar once and went up to the first guy and he told him to get lost that he would rather die than be caught dead with an ugly mug like him. Stephen heartbroken leaves such gay bar and decides to join the ex-gays in a crusade to take away our rights because of the rage he feels at such rejection. I have to feel that this is the same with most if not all ex-gays, their too ugly/fat to make it in the gay world and instead of doing something about it they want to make us as miserable as they are. I should know I used to be a bully just like them.
their too ugly/fat to make it in the gay world
Comments like these make me sick. And they provide fodder for all the ex-gays sitting around in meetings believing that they have to change because the only alternative is the gay community, which they believe (rightfully so at times?) to be filled with shallow, uncaring people.
I don’t have anything to do with that particular “gay world” thank you very much.
Christine,I cannot think of a gayer two people than us… and our “gay World” does not include such sentiments. In our experience, the bitchest are also among the ranks of the least “successful” (and please DO NOT take that as a personal comment judah22)Many ex-gay people seem to be deeply disturbed about their place in this World, and what they should do… but if “fat” and “ugly” was the benchmark many, many gay, gay GAY people would fail. Much to our collective eternal delight :).Now, for some balance, if we can only focus some attention on the STRAIGHT demand that women be anorexic with 88DD breasts…
Last night,I just saw a hilarious one man show. It would almost be a good counterweight to Peter Toscano’s piece.
Dan Rothenberg’s “Regretrosexual” is an autobiographical piece about his three year experience with being gay.
I know, I know…
But he’s also aware of the ex gay issue and what his own experience entails. But he very brilliantly articulates exactly what is mentioned in a few of the posts here.
As a teen, he had horrendous rejection problems, was alcoholic by then and wasn’t making it too well with females.
He met a radical and feminist advocate MALE (Justin) who became his best friend. When Justin came out, he also brought Dan along into his world of gay dating.
Dan found a niche, he belonged, he was loved and enjoyed himself.
He found himself also falling for his lesbian friends, who he saw as beautiful boys in his mind.
For him, it was a matter of having SOMEBODY and being validated.
He found that saying you’re alcoholic, but no longer drinking, carries an identity as well that he didn’t mind admitting to at every opportunity.
Dan’s wife was there at the theater. They have been married for two years.
She’s very pretty, an actress and she’s supportive of his background.
The whole monologue centered around Dan getting up the nerve to confess to his girlfriend of six months that he was temporarily gay for three years.
He asserts well and strongly though that GAY men and women, have it differently. The pressure is different and the resistance to that pressure is hard.
He considers himself perhaps bi. He likes men, the way you like basil. It’s a flavor, it adds another dimension and character to his life, but essentially he’s monogamous with and loves his wife.
He wouldn’t betray his gay friends who nurtured him. Especially because of the unique nurturing support being gay for that time gave his life.
Maybe bi is more like PANsexual, love who you will and rightly.
Anyway, he and I and his wife discussed the ex gay issue and how that figures into his own experience.
They don’t support the ex gay movement at all, for the same reasons I mention.
The spirit of that movement is to validate heterosexuality ALONE, not to support people who need to find their own way, their own path because they are loved, and searching for it, no matter which way it goes.
Dan gives props to his gay friends for ALLOWING him that freedom to be gay with them and incorporating that identity when he thought that’s what he was searching for, rather than calling it a bad way to live.
If anything, this is honest and fair. He’s a funny and charming guy…cute too.
Works for me.
