I just spoke with a delightful woman from Palm Springs N.O.W. who explained why the Unity Rally organizers have chartered a bus to take participants from Palm Springs to the church site for Love Won Out in Indian Wells. Apparently Indian Wells is a million-dollar bedroom community with no public street parking on its arterials and virtually all residential communities are gated.
Update: Sign up for the bus here. I just spoke with the protest head organizer and there’s no cost to ride the bus but participants must attend a briefing on peaceful protest guidelines before taking part.
I plan on being there.
I’m hoping that the protest is not as much a protest as it is an affirmation to the gay kids and family. In other words, a happy friendly protest (like the last one) rather than an angry chanting group.
Ironically, i met Ron Oden yesterday. We shared a shuttle bus from a parking lot to a Labor Day pool party.
I will be there at the conference. I am driving solo. I will not be protesting, just plan to “be” there and take notes.
I was a “tourist” this past week-end and picked up some nice welcome postcards from Q Trading in Palm Springs. Sent them off to Alan Chambers and Joe Nicolosi. I have never met either man — so I am really looking forward to it — especially Alan since we have so much in common.
