Activist/author Wayne Besen has picked up on the news, also noted on March 25 by XGW commenter Chalker Cross, that the antigay video “It’s Not Gay” is on sale for $10.
The video features antigay AIDS-infected activist Michael Johnston, who has AIDS. The video has been available online for free for months. On The Al Rantel Show, Besen recently criticized AFA for marketing the video, due to its misinformation about AIDS, and for concealing Johnston’s unsafe-sex orgies and the subsequent closure of Johnston’s activist organization.
The Michael Johnston scandal was exposed in 2003, after the video’s initial release, but AFA and other antigay groups continue to market the video.
I’m sure it’s just an oversight but AIDS isn’t an infection, it’s a pattern of symptoms associated with HIV infection.
Ha ha, their video is in the discount bin. I’ll laugh harder still when no one buys them and they have to bury them in the desert like they did will all those E.T. atari cartridges that noone ever bought.
To continue to sell the testimony of an ex-gay that is no longer ex-gay or who was not telling the truth at the time his story was videotaped is lying, plain and simple.
Maybe they should be required to slap a parental advisory sticker on the front:
“Caution – Contains medical misinformation and other misrepresentations. Watching this video recording may result in a diminished ability to distinguish truth from hypocrisy, which can in extreme cases lead to nausea, emotional paralysis and even death.”
