Peterson Toscano, a performance artist and two-year survivor of the Love In Action exgay live-in “therapy” program, performed his sketch Queer 101 at the Lavender Languages and Linguistics conference Feb. 10 in Washington, D.C.
The conference continues through Sunday at The American University. Registration costs $5-10.
Toscano is the creator of the one-man stage show Doin’ Time In The Homo No Mo Halfway House. In “Queer 101,” Toscano continues the fictional story of Chad, a former participant in the Homo No Mo program who charts his poignant discoveries and humorous observations about gay people, gay history, and identity politics.

I wish I could be there to see Peterson’s performance.
But, actor Brian Chenowith-who has taken a similar journey has performed solo pieces on his experience.
The latest “Good News” is now playing Thursday nights at the NoHo Arts Center in Studio City.
And I’m certainly going to that!
