From Pastor Dan at Street Prophets via Jesus Politics, in response to this news of the exgay lawsuit against the elected leaders of Tennessee:
It’s shameful for a Christian “ministry” to hide behind faith as it provides substandard, if not downright fraudulent services to vulnerable populations. Above and beyond being “subject to governing authorities,” Christians are called to give their best to those in need, not half-assed handouts.
And make no mistake about it: “reparative therapy” is a fraud, and a cruel one to boot. To love as Christ loves does not involve making 16-year olds hate themselves in a quest to do what no reputable psychiatrist, psychologist, or counselor thinks is possible: reassigning their sexual orientation.
Love in Action is not loving, and it is not Christian.
