On his personal blog, Exodus spokesman Randy Thomas today issued a clarification to his official comments, quoted by Focus on the Family, blaming gays as a class for apathy and irresponsibility in the battle against AIDS.
Thomas says he was quoted out of context by Focus on the Family. Is he surprised? I do not understand why an Exodus spokesman, if acting from a balanced perspective and thoughtful mind, would provide interviews to an organization that quotes everyone out of context and that casts all issues as pawns in a religious war against the enemies of Focus on the Family.
The problem with Randy Thomas is that he is a chronic fib facotry. He distorts and dissembles and generally has troubel with the truth. I feel very bad for the man.
