“The Way Out,” an ex-gay video, was to be presented June 17 by Exodus and Southern Baptist Convention leaders at the SBC convention in Phoenix.

Alan Chambers, Executive Director of Exodus and attending the convention, states, “The SBC is the world’s 4th largest denomination and they are promoting the fact that homosexuals are important to the Lord and important to the church. The SBC is encouraging the messengers to accept that homosexual people should be reached with the love of Christ.” Alan continues, “These courageous leaders are underscoring the fact that God loves every homosexual person too much to leave them that way: Change is possible!”
Is Chambers’ language compassionate, or paternalistic?
