Perhaps a bit off topic for XGW, but the religious views expressed should be familiar to many readers. When I read Jackson’s comments they angered me. When I watched this video clip, I think I felt sad for her more than anything else. She expresses herself like someone caught in a cult, and it is tragic that she has so much company.
It seems unlikely that any group has done more to damage Christianity and the Church than the “evangelical” movement in this country — very sad indeed.
Ha. I love that they played the gay kiss a dozen times while that lady was talking.
For me, it doesn’t boil down to philosophy or Scripture. You’re clearly just screwy if you can’t see that Kurt and Blaine are totally adorable together.
That network gave that clown way too much time.
I’m thankful that they allowed Jackson to be the face of Christianity in America for a few minutes. I especially welcomed her dramatic flare as she thrust out her Bible a few times, plus her adding some chapter/verse citations to give her words that extra air of authority. And she wrapped it all up into a delivery that was priceless.
Maybe, while she was on Saturday Night Live, she always wanted to play Dana Carvey’s most famous character – the Church Lady. Who knew what she would become in real life?
This has been another lesson for anyone who has been doubting the truth of Poe’s Law.
something is wrong with her.
Victoria Jackson is just sad. Or she is doing a brilliant parody – but I tend to think sad is the reality. She spouts mumbo-jumbo and seems to have lost any grip of reality. I am very sad that she gets to be the “face” of Christianity for some, since her message has no grasp of the Gospel (or of anything else for that matter). If I thought I had to believe in her God, I’d be an atheist.
