Gay-spirituality blogger Joe Perez discusses Catholic moral theology and homosexuality with chastity advocate, Courage member and author David Morrison.
Joe’s reflections are remarkably civil. I agree with much of what Joe says. My only negative reaction, offhand, is that someone has got to invent a better word for heterosexism than, well, heterosexism. And I personally try to reserve the word “supremacy” for contexts where it is clearly established that an individual favors broad, harsh and specific forms of discrimination against a class of people.
How about the term heterocentrism? I think a centrism is a more accurate term than sexism for unconscious assumptions.
i like gay people. i think theyre nice. you meanie catholics need to get your selves in check. gay people are gay not for fun but because they have a chemical imbalance put there by god so also if being gay’s a sin and were all sinners and how is it any different? As I recall being gay is not one of the seven deadly sins. Have a nice day.
