This is the first honest clear perfectly laid out case for why gays should be banned from marriage. I don’t know why it took so long for someone to get it so right. I’m always the last to know. (wiping tear from cheek) Now it all makes sense. Your depth and insight is remarkable. We should never have even THOUGHT about gays getting married. Thanks man, you really helped me see the light. : )
First, full disclosure: I fully support same-sex marriage. That said, I’m not overly impressed with this video. It’s nothing more than an unoriginal rehash of instant arguments I’ve heard ad nauseum. The truth is that the marriage debate requires a sort of intellectual honesty that is not much in evidence on either side of the debate. Sure, a quick retort that can easily be condensed to fit on a bumper sticker has the allure of appealing to one’s appetite for immediate gratification but it really does nothing to convince those who haven’t already been won over.
At the end of the day, this video really has all the intellectual depth of a high school cheerleading rally in support of the school’s football team. Everyone assembled will be convinced that the greatness of the team is self-evident and caught up in the passions of the moment. What such a thing never will be, however, is a true rational assessment of the team’s strengths, weaknesses and fortunes going into the season.
Good grief people, it’s parody. And Jason, how many times have you heard those issues discussed that way? I doubt even the source you gave was the original, but perhaps if you let him know he will give them credit. I think “stolen” is a bit strong, especially considering how easily he could have heard those things while never reading the other piece. If he had reprinted the other in full, or even used it word for word in the video, that would be another matter.
I stand corrected Jason, that really does look word for word for those he used. He may still have received one of the emails running around with that stuff in it, but if he knew about the source he should have asked them and/or credited the other piece in his description. Seriously, let him know and maybe he will.

The only thing original in this world is the Denny’s Gram Slam Breakfast, everything else is just a copy.
It’s great to see things like this to get the message across. It’s time all Americans wake up and realize that if we don’t defend everyone’s basic rights we will eventually loose them all, and it will be done in the name of theocracy. The bulk of the Protestant Reformation was about getting the Church back in line and to curb its overpowering abuses. The Counter-Reformation was about the same thing. It’s that old saying, “Power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely.” We are fortunate to be in a country that allows religion to flourish without government intervention. And by the same token, the government must never be the puppet of any single religion body.
Those who advocate religious doctrines over the lives of people need to examine their core faith and really take a cold hard look at themselves and revisit their founders words and deeds. And we as Americans need to remember that our individual religious convictions may govern our lives, but we cannot use the government to try and impose them on others.
More on topic …. bravo to the maker of this video! But please don’t advocate banning instant oatmeal! I think it’s more unnatural to eat cold pizza left over from the box that was left out the night before for breakfast.

LOL Damn, even the McGriddle?
Okay, I thought it was kinda funny and the guy is kinda cute. I saw it as parody too, not an attempt at intellectually honest “debate.” Having said that, it could be argued that many in our society establish their points of view on sound bites. Many people don’t read books.
David, I guess I could’ve given a bit more depth to my comment. Sorry for that. Silly internet, it has no idea what tone you’re typing in! 🙂
GatorGSA had some good materials along the same line, with things like how marriage had “never changed” because we still marry off little girls to old old men.
The youtube comments are hilarious, half the people didn’t understand that it was a joke. Someone even posted a 8-minute video response congratulating him for being so brave to stand up against gay people!
LOL! I’ve heard of these sarcastic ‘reasons’ as to why gay’s shouldn’t marry before. Apparently, the guy in the video left out the last point-
“Gay’s shouldn’t be married because the laws of nature show it to be unnatural. Animals don’t do it. Eversince the dawn of mankind, lions, bears and zebras have had supremacy over human moral issues. Also, as far back as the establishment of civilization, our house pets have told us how we should live our lives because we humans are dimwitted and can’t decide things for ourselves.” 😀
Awesome video, Dude. Love that sense of humor.

At least half this material is stolen from here.
