According to the Associated Press, Senate majority leader Bill Frist invested a fortune in campaign funds in lousy stocks since 2000 — and ran up a loss of $524,000.
Now Frist — a likely GOP candidate for president in 2008, who is promoted on 79 pages of Focus on the Family’s web site — owes $360,000 to U.S. Bank.
The bank appears to have granted Frist special favors by rolling over the loan until 2007.
In other off-topic news:
The liberal Christian-led Americans United for Separation of Church and State has sued to stop U.S. taxpayer dollars from being wasted by the Bush Administration on church renovations in California. This federal pork project had been approved by Democratic and Republican Congressmen who are apparently unconcerned by the $7.5 trillion national debt.
Americans United is periodically criticized by Focus on the Family (Google search) for obstructing the use of taxpayer borrowing to favor conservative Christianity and disfavor non-Christian faiths.
If Frist runs for President, the Democrats will have a vicotry on their hands.
Tee-hee, the GOP’s #1 kitten killer for president!
