Somehow the Crystal Cathedral story seems the most otherworldly. It appears it is not enough for the Schuller kids to run the operation into bankruptcy – now they must make it a laughingstock. Philip Johnson, who designed the place, could not be in the choir? And Virgil Fox who oversaw the design of the pipe organ would not longer be allowed to play? I wish a quick Chapter 11 liquidation for them. BUT in the midst of stories of bullying, suicide, and murder, the “dark crystal” qualities of the story are remarkable. Hate crimes and bullying begin with institutions like the Crystal Cathedral that teach that gay people are less worthy, less loved by God. The evil of this action can not be overstated.
