Daniel:
I’m new to this blog, so I haven’t taken part of your story before. I was truly moved by what you say in the video clip, especially by the part about losing your faith. I have read and written about the ex-gay movement on my blog a few times, and I must say that much of what they are doing is really a perversion of Christianity.
X-gaywatch Utube channel. That’s just awesome!!!
Would if it meant anything but on dial-up, I can’t get anything to download anymore. Not even Shockwave Flash movies will download. I don’t get it. Tried to see the “Donnie Davies” stuff and can’t. Eh, probably not worth it anyway.
Maybe I should check into AT&T DSL. But I’m out in the country 2 miles from the switch, so it’s probably not worth it.
Daniel – Thanks for making a difference. We can each add to the collective public knowledge as you have taken with X-Gay Watch & You Tube.
My partner and I were missing “the true church” and found it again (love of people for being who they are in faith and fellowship). Of all places we found it at First Baptist Church of Morrestown, New Jersey.
We have about 8 or 9 GLTB brothers and sisters as members, we have been welcomed and affirmed in our life and relationships. The congregation is about 150 and regular attendance of 50 to 60 weekly of all age ranges.
We have a Gay Deacon on the board, the youth pastor previously (stepped down for personal reasons in June) is a lesbian, still actively involved in the church and the congregation has had a Bible study last year on “What does the Bible say about Homosexuality”. This year in January due to the passage of the Civil Union Act and the obvious awareness of the strife’s in the Christian Church the Pastor has focused the first two Sermons of the year on being Welcoming to Gays in the Church.
Weekly they have been reviewing (last 3 Sundays) in the after sermon class “More than Welcome” – a book by Maurine Waun. This study focus around learning to embrace Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual and Transgendered Persons in the Church.
We have been there for over 3 years and always have a hard tie getting other GLTB people to believe it real. We are fortunate there are Pastors and Congregations who seeks the Lords direction on “loving all Children of God”.
Check out our web-site (yes the Gay Guy’s are the Web Masters). Thanks ~dean
Thansk for alerting me to this. I just set up a YouTube Account. Fun and easy. Keep up the good work.
