This upcoming weekend is Los Angeles Pride. Since I missed Peterson’s event, it would be great to have a chance to meet all of you Angelinos (or close by) who may be there celebrating.
I will be all over the place over the weekend and it might be hard to arrange a time we all could get together. But I do know that I will be working a booth for my church on Saturday evening from 7 to 11 if anyone wants to drop by and put a face to the name.
My church is WeHo Church and our theme this year is Noah’s Ark so it will be easy to find: look for blow-up animals. Come by and say hello and get your pic taken with an animal nose (OK, maybe it’s a little lame, but it’s fun).
– Timothy
Timothy, I’ve visited WeHo church on several occasions and found it to be a really fun place to be. And I loves me some Momma. Momma was one of the biggest supporters of our musical “The Last Session.” I don’t know if I’ll be out there, but I would love to come and visit your service again. Maybe you would let me sing a song or two! 🙂
thanks steve,
(way off track for a second)
I’ve known Momma (and Worthy) for years and Momma is an absolute sweetheart (both in and out of a wig).
Momma and a puppet named Loli gave our Palm Sunday sermon. I’m just traditional enough that I was concerned about the irreverance of that.
But to my surprise, this was one of the most moving and inspiring Sundays and cut straight to the heart of what Christianity is about. But I guess that’s what you have to do when you are telling the story of sacrifice and redemption to a “six year old” puppet.
For those who don’t know Momma:

(OK, back to our regularly scheduled frivolous thread about seeing each other at LA gay pride)
I have a thought… is there any way we could try to find each other at one (regular commenters and such) at Pride events in other cities?
I’m in St. Louis and can’t go out to LA 🙁 But it would be fun if people who comment and are in the STL area met up at Pride…
Or would that kind of discussion entirely throw the thread into chaos? 🙂
I’ll be there but I’m going on a boozy bus ride so I’m not quite sure of my condition :).
It’s once a year and it’s a fun trip, what can I say, I’ll be tipsy (so there!).
Oh Tim! Great idea!
Is this the WeHo Church near Hayvenhurst? The one Jason and DeMarco sing in occasionally?
Cool!
But I have to attend a theater production for GLAAD that night.
I’m torn between spending the whole time with Jamiel and the both of us go to this show.
Tell you what Tim, just email me or call me for hanging out at another time.
I’d love to meet you.
Steve darling, give Jim a kiss for me and I hope to see you soon.
And I love me some Momma too!
I’m living on the wrong coast – it’s feeling pretty dull over here 🙁

At least you’re on a coast. No one knows where STL is…they flyover.
At least you two are in the right hemisphere…(actually, we probably won’t even be in the same day!)
Aww… too bad. I’ll be in Chicago this weekend.
At least I got to meet Regan aka Storm at Peterson’s performance on Friday night. You rock, girlfriend. Even though you haven’t emailed me yet. 😉
Hey, Timothy… I attend Christ Chapel, the church that WeHo Church spun off from, so say ‘Hi’ to Terry for me. And if the rest of you meet up this weekend, I hope you all have fun. Take pictures! 🙂
Hey TOC, I used to attend Christ Chapel. Say hi to Jerrell for me. I go to WeHo Church now because they start an hour later than CCOV and I’m a lazy slug on Sunday mornings. 🙂
Regan, darn it. I was hoping to see you this weekend. I’ll email you to see if your scedule will have any overlap with mine.
And while Jason and DeMarco sing at our church sometimes when they aren’t traveling, isn’t Hayvenhurst in the Valley? WeHo is on Formosa, kinda behind the Target.
Hey, Timothy… CCOV actually starts at 11AM now. For the rest of us lazy slugs. 🙂
