A recent article over at the Agapepress about the Vagina Monologues did not once spell out the full word “vagina,” instead substituting the letter “V” on every reference to the play. I was curious what other words might have slid past the AgapeCensors in past articles:
Sodomy, as well as Sodomize
Anal Sex
Vibrator
Orgy
Rimming
Penis
Sex Club as well as Bathhouse
“gay.com”
And lastly my personal favorite, Gay Bowel Syndrome
(Thanks to Pam Spaulding for the inspiration.)
Update: Found a few more real gems:
Clitoris
Crack Whore (Always popular)
Damn
Teenage Prostitute
Beastiality
Masturbation
Sadomasochism
Upon being told the Agapepress has used Penile Penetration, Peterson Toscano remarked, ” this is a very unsafe site for a struggling homosexual.”
God I feel like I’m 12 years old.
Priceless.
My vagina and I thank you. There’s nothing wrong or dirty about me or it!
It reminds me of the Seinfeld episode where he can’t remember his girlfriend’s name–except that it rhymes with a female body part.
Mulva? Nope. Dolores.
In all seriousness, Agape Press and AFA seem quite pornographic when it suits their political agenda.
LOL Mike. I agree. When I was deeply closeted in the 80s and 90s I used to enjoy reading the monthly AFA bulletin just for the arousal factor.
The “gay watch” publications in the 80s (I’m old enough to claim the 70s too) had a real prurient quality to them. I used to wonder about the people who wrote them; if they ever acknowledged the voyeurism that was so clear in their writing.
I was looking for something else when I saw this.
Damn it all to hell, they censored a *scientific* word for female genitalia!
It says a LOT. Especially since this organization also tries to convince people (including grocery store executives and managers) that magazines like Redbook, Glamour, and Cosmopolitan are “pornography.”

They don’t just hate LGBTs, they hate all women who enjoy sex and make their own decisions about it.
Pass it on…
