Mike Tidmus has posted a slick infographic to his web site.
I agree with Tidmus that John and Anne Paulk were once antigay profiteers — but they seem to have retired from that line of business.
Tidmus also has some colorful observations on Focus on the Family’s odd choice of Melissa Fryrear, one of two exgays who replaced the Paulks as spokespersons for the exgay movement.
(The other replacement was Mike Haley, who was promoted to replace John Paulk as head of Focus on the Family’s exgay office and as chairman of Exodus.)
Such a wonderful lesbian couple on that there book cover {/snicker}
Who are they trying to fool?
So… she’s known to be masculine and he’s known to be effeminate.
I know they’ve been criticized for years for their mannerisms and facial structure, but I still don’t quite see the point.
Besides, Anne reminds me of Michelle Forbes from Battlestar Galactica, “24,” and Star Trek: TNG. Ooooh, baby….
If you ever read Anne’s testimonial, the “ex-lesbian” claims to have slept with an awful lot of guys in highschool and college.
That’s another reason why the criticisms, even if intended as humor — don’t make sense to me.
1. She’s a babe (though perhaps a bit more masculine than average)
2. Her history contains little or no lesbian behavior.
3. Her history contains plenty of heterosexual behavior.
4. Her testimonial is not about real-world lesbian issues; it’s about confusion over self-labeling that originate, in part, from her past and present stereotypes about gender roles generally, and feminists and lesbians in particular.
