Hard times, and rumors of such, are circulating around the Memphis, Tenn.-based antigay therapeutic outfit Love In Action.
The Memphis-based Queer Action Coalition observes declining activity at LIA headquarters, talk of internal conflict, and the possible closure of one of two live-in facilities.
QAC briefly recalls the harm done to Mid-South families by LIA’s obstinate tunnelvision, its aversion to familial love and unity, its poorly trained staff and unprofessional handling of patients.
But instead of wishing for the organization’s demise, as some other activists have done, QAC extends holiday greetings to the organization with the hope that LIA’s chilled hearts will eventually be warmed, and LIA’s closed minds eventually opened.
You have to wonder how many other ex-gay shamhouses would have the same fate as LIA if they weren’t getting tons of money from one or two sources.
