The Concerned Women for America’s Culture and Family Institute has applauded Baylor University for pulling cups from the campus Starbucks that included a quote for Armistead Maupin.
Concerned woman, Bob Knight, “says his group has challenged the Starbucks Coffee Company by asking why it has a pro-homosexual quote, but not one from a former homosexual.”
In the spirit of cooperation, I thought we could offer Starbucks some options to choose from. I would like to nominate the following quote but please feel free to add your favorite.
I’m asking this so I might continue to battle, stand up and crack this puppy wide open.
– “former homosexual” Richard Cohen:
You could always go with this gem from Melissa Fryrear:
“During my years of restoration, I also began to learn about this thing called womanhood. Goodness! Who knew there was so much to learn: plucking eyebrows, hair bleaches, hair waxings, facial mud masks, eye lash curlers, manicures, pedicures, push-up bras, tummy tuckers, rear-end boosters, last year’s colors, and next year’s fashions?”
Yeah, that would put the pigeon amoung the cats (so to speak) :-)Just out of curiosity — I wonder how many gay men Melissa Fry(and boost)rear encountered during this whirlwind tour through the beauty salons of womanhood…
Silencing. Compromising free speech and open expression of gay people.
If ex gays want to be represented, they can do so on THEIR OWN coffee cups!
What’s stopping them from creating a line to express their views?
They have websites that sell their music, films and such. They have access to broadcast media and bus advertising.
I don’t think they quite understand that their existence is REDUNDANT!!
If they are now heterosexuals, then they have nothing to worry about. Marriage, military service, whatever denomination of worship they want is an open door.
Nobody is shutting any heterosexual from these options. Regardless of how morally reprehensible they might be.
Heterosexuals can express themselves to the nth degree (even in outrageously raunchy ways) with very little sanction.
The ex gay rants, and CW interests mean one thing.
That they want to FORCE everyone to be heterosexual and have the public think they have cornered the market on being able to do that and through choice and gentle persuasion.
What no one is noticed is that homosexuals aren’t trying to FORCE anyone to be homosexual.
And if you have to employ all these tactics to lie and force gays into submission, then it’s really not so easy and a choice for gay people to alter themselves.
If it takes threat…then it’s not a choice. It’s coercion.
If the truth be known…
Irresponsible, phony losers like Bennett and Cohen and Fryear are good riddance!
Who needs people like them to represent what homosexuals ever are anyway? They are an insult to any kind of human being, gay or not.
