A small number of presumably wealthy gays in the Hamptons are complaining after a crackdown by police and neighbors against public sex on the beaches.
But there is no indication that the local laws are being applied unfairly.
Now, some libertarians might argue that there shouldn’t be laws against public sex in the first place.
But as it stands, the law does not discriminate against gays. And some gay neighbors are as grossed-out by the activity as the non-gay neighbors.
Gay men have healthy social options available to them: They can meet people in a bar (gay or otherwise), bookstore, gay-affirming church, or online. If some individuals feel they must have sex with strangers, then they can do so on their own property in private.
