In an interview with CNN, Pat Robertson rationalizes about his prayer that three Supreme Court justices — only one of them liberal — will retire.
If he didn’t intend for the justices to develop health problems, then it’s logical to surmise Robertson would not have identified the justices by health problem (rather than name) in the first place.
And would he not have prayed against all the justices in the sodomy-ruling majority, rather than the ones known to have recent health issues?
Don’t be obtuse! Pat is only saying, in his own faithless way, that it’s easier on an all-powerful god to ask him to convince a judge in old age or failing health to retire than to ask him to make a judge in young, vibrant health retire. If one of these three happens to retire (which due to old age or failing health may well happen on its own), he can then point to prayer and say: Aha! See, we did it! “Desiolatry”!
