The latest edition of the Exodus newsletter Impact reports that Executive Vice President Mike Goeke has resigned and plans to immediately move his family back to Texas, reportedly to start a new ministry there.
This move is nothing against Exodus or my job here – but is simply our response to the call of God on our lives.
Stephanie and I are very excited working to fulfill our vision for a nationwide support system for married couples impacted by homosexuality. [emphasis in original]
According to the article, Goeke and his family were to move back to Texas last month. Oddly, as of today there appears to be no mention of this or any change in status for Mr. Goeke on the Exodus website.
Setting up a new ministry and moving back to Texas seem like big projects, but the way that this is announced suggests an abrupt decision.
My bet would be that Randy will be angling for a promotion, if he hasn’t alread started his campaign. If he is promoted, I am certain that it will have nothing to do with his Tom Cruise like campaign (radio, newspaper and web) to announce that he has a girlfriend.
“support for marriages impacted by homosexuality”…?
I suppose the only way you can identify an ‘ex gay’ is if that gay person is celibate or married to the opposite sex, maybe with children.’
What IS the criteria for being ex gay? Has anyone asked.
There don’t really seem to be any specifics unless there are ‘ex gay police’ around to check up on the quality of sexuality an ex gay has.
Does anyone ask?
Does anyone care to?
Because this is a truly stupid enterprise.
These are the very people who encourage gay people to marry straight people or other ex gays.
The entire CULTURE has centered their mission about qualifying a person as no longer gay through MARRIAGE.
And when that fails, they REITERATE and REINFORCE what the problem was from the beginning.
What was that saying about insanity again?
Using the same approach over and over yet expecting different results?
Some days, the people in this redundant ex gay movement need to be shaken until the rocks in their heads fall out.
