Now that definitely fits the Alan Chambers bill. I still find it very scary how many Americans actually believe this man’s ludicrous lies. He really is self-delusional. Let the money come rolling in Alan Chambers. Let’s shout another Hallelujah as the books, the speaking engagements and the delusion at Exodus keeps going on and on CHA CHING, CHA CHING, CHA CHING!!!
This is somewhat off topic, but I think it is related. The Christian Right often uses very deceptive tactics, yet they continue to make gains. Samuel Alito wrote a disturbing letter to James Dobson thanking him and the followers for the support. I thought Alito seemed fair and honest during the hearings, but I may have been wrong. The link to the letter is here: https://www.huffingtonpost.com/max-blumenthal/alito-sends-james-dobson-_b_16596.html
The reason I find it disturbing is that there seems to be a subtext that Alito will repay the favor. He even desires to meet with Dobson in the future. It seems to me that Dobson has a clear hand in the Supreme Court, and that will affect gay people in the future. I have mentioned it before I have read that Scalia’s son actually does exgay counseling. Does anyone have other info regarding that?
In the zeal to prohibit gay people in one area of legal and Constitutional protections, other basic rights are seriously damaged.
Especially the first five in the First Amendment.
A constructionist justice wouldn’t, absolutely NOT allow the DOMA or the FMA or MPA…or whatever it’s called this year, to be enforceable.
This is so scary my friends…it really is.
I can’t understand how a NON CRIMINAL class of citizens can be placed in such cross hairs and the public just stand around and act like groups like FOTF, the FRC..et al…are upstanding in their agendas.
Orwell surely comes to mind.
Aaron,I imagine you’re thinking of Paul Scalia. He is a Virginia priest, and yes he has had a few things to say on the subject. He’s also popped up at PFOX.Oh.
It looks like Paul follows the “there are no gay people, just homosexual behaviors” school of thought. It’s depressing to think that his father probably believes the same. I think it likely that he will be an anti-gay activist on the Supreme Court.
“…he will be…” ???Try, he already has been!Recall Lawrence v Texas. Such a self-proclaimed strict constitutionalist chose to ignore the fundamental “life, liberty and happiness” bit and ranted about those fellow judges as having bought into a “culture war”.Or perhaps he merely meant that he only supports the liberty of all those with a particular religious life who will only be happy when… they remove life, liberty and happiness for some others?
Who’s claiming 10%? That’s a very old number – you might say a rough starting number – which originated with Kinsey’s work.
Until better studies came along, it was the best figure around. And since anti-gay activists fought against any study which could answer the question, it took a while for good study to come around. But the CDC report issued last fall -while not perfect – gives us a pretty good answer.
And it did provide something interesting that I bet you didn’t know. Only 90% of Americans identify as heterosexual.
While only about 4.1% of the population identifies as gay or bisexual, there was an additional 6% that either refused to answer or identied as “something else”.
WOW!!! So Kinsey was pretty darn close.
But you make a good point about so few people making so much noise.
Really. Jews are only about 2% of the US population and yet they scream every time someone claims the haulocast did’t exist.
And there’s such a tiny number of Japanese in the country, yet you’d think that the whole interment thing in WWII actually mattered.
And really why is such a big deal made about slavery? After all, only about 11% of the population is black.
Those tiny percentages should just shut up and let the majority do what they want.
But, of course, if that were the rule, then we would hear nothing from the roughly 8% of Americans that are church-attending evangelicals.
Yeah, it really is amazing how much noise so few people can make, isn’t it.

PS — and yes he is one of Antonin Scalia’s four sons.

As if gay activists have NEVER inflated numbers. No. Never. Ever. Not even for, say, the percentage of the population who are homosexual. Nope. Never.
Tell me Whatever — what percentage of the population are homosexual? We await you knowledge.
“”…he will be…” ???
Try, he already has been!”
ah, yes. that’s very true.
About 3% of the population is homosexual, not anywhere near 10% as claimed. It is amazing how much noise so few people can make, isn’t it.
