Mike Airhart was the founding editor of Ex-Gay Watch, until he left in 2007. He has returned as a contributing writer. He is a project manager and data scientist for the National Center for Lesbian Rights, and an interfaith advocate, living near Phoenix, Arizona.
I’m doing a TV show in Portland Oregon with Jason Thompson, Dir. of the ex-gay ministry “The Portland Fellowship.” Email me any tough questions you may have for him. They are also sponsoring a seminar on April 8th, 2006, with Joe Dallas.

hmmm… my post got held for review, I must have triggered it somehow… it may show back up but meanwhile,
Please be warned that Bernie Dehler is an anti-gay activist and is not performing a legitimate hard-ball interview. We’ve dealt with him before without success. So let’s not participate in this sham.
Oh, Bernie’s back.My dear fellow, here’s a suggestion: Do your own research instead of parroting what (any) other people say.In the old days we used to call that journalism. You may start with 1) finding out what “change” is 2) finding out how many people “change”.You may start with Jason Thompson by asking if they keep records of what happens to people at Portland Fellowship. If the answer is no — you may raise your eyebrows, and directly ask Jason what his credentials therefore are.Actually, you may do that with any exgay promoter.

Timothy- give me your hardest questions for him. What are you afraid of,,, his answers? If it’s not too verbose, I can ask him the question you write literally. Send it to my email address,,, I may not read a response from here in time.
Bernie…The reason you were told to piss off last time was because you came here pretending to be genuine but only intended to bait people. Your deliberate provocation with that post has your grubby attitude (as we all remember it) all over it. Frankly, why on earth should Timothy even bother talking to you after that? Is rudeness the way you normally ask people to assist you?On another matter, not: I already know what the answer is to those “questions” that I gave you. No, really. Jason’s had a great deal to say over the past few years, and the internet has a long memory.Depending on what you “uncover”, and what you then say… well, you can guess the rest of the story :|(And this, BTW, would be your third strike.)
I do have a list of questions for Jason. But you have indicated that your mediation would introduce ignorance and strawman argumentation into the discussion.
So I will send the questions to Jason via e-mail, and if he cares to respond, he may do so in writing, via e-mail with permission to reprint verbatim at Ex-Gay Watch.
Alternatively, if Jason wishes to participate in direct discussion at XGW, he is always welcome to do so. Jason does not require your mediation, though I’m sure your gesture is appreciated.
Bernie- the last time you came here, you basically stated that you do not consider yourself to be under any obligation to be truthful in anything you assert. Why on earth do you think anyone would want to use you as a go-between?

That’s crazy. I’m a Christian. Lying is a sin. It’s not something I practice.

Thanks, Grantdale, I’ll plan to ask him those.

OK, folks, need I say more about Bernie?

I agree Bernie. What you said was crazy. It’s too bad that’s your viewpoint. Maybe someday you will repent and experience lasting change.
