Sed Contra, written by Courage participant and chaste Catholic David Morrison has offered a great deal of nuanced thinking on this topic. More antigay than gay-tolerant, perhaps, but better than the incendiary rubbish circulating among the religious right.

Mike- I’d like to point out that David is against a complete ban on all celibate priests that experience “some degree of SSA” (a phrase he uses often). However from his comments with me on his blog, he seems to be in favor of a ban on gay priests with a strong degree of SSA.
In my opinion, he is trying to have it both ways. Since he claims to now have diminished SSA, he is looking for protection for those that fall into his group. But, he isn’t looking to protect those that have strong SSA, even if they are celibate (in my opinion because he doesn’t see himself in this category). I personally wish Courage members that do struggle with strong degrees of SSA should take him to task on this since he is seemingly leaving them behind.
What about those priests with strong OSA, opposite sex attraction?!
Keeping potential female victims out of or ignoring the actual ones in this discussion is so evil.
It’s a tacit way of saying that women are invisible and silent, and only MALE victims matter.
The purge is about who they think are weak males (homosexuals) form seminaries and the weaker sex (females) from their thoughts and protection.
