Lance Carroll spent last summer at Love in Action. He came back today to join Queer Action Coalition and the protesters outside.
While Carroll’s prepared message spoke of depression and cruel methodology within LIA and of verbal and physical abuse after LIA’s efforts went unsuccessful, he also spoke of a loving family that took him in when the abuse became to great at home. The contrast between rejection and abuse by those who sought to change him and the care and comfort he’s received from those who accept him makes clear where love is truly being shown in action.
